O'Gara hat-trick sees Templeogue Synge St promoted 11/12/2013 An Eoghan O’Gara hat-trick helped Templeogue Synge St defeat Ballinteer St John’s 4-12 to 1-10 in Tuesday night’s Dublin AFL2 promotion final in Ballinteer. The Dublin forward finished with a personal tally of 3-2 in a powerful and ruthless display with other telling forward displays coming from the highly influential Niall Scully and Cathal Morley as well as the deadball accuracy of Tommy Coyne. St John’s began well, despite the absence of Peter O'Curry (injury) and Glen Whelan (Dublin hurlers holiday) with points from Fearghal Duffy and Pauric O’Connor but quickfire goals from Scully and O’Gara turned balance of power totally in favour of Synger who led 3-7 to 0-4 at the interval. O’Gara completed his hat-trick with ten minutes remaining with Scully again to the fore in the build-up – Cillian Fitzgerald’s late goal were mere consolation to the home side.
